After practicing 15 years, I thought opening my own practice from scratch would be a simple venture. I never knew that details of the city rules, the construction limitations and the choices in equipment would all play a role. And after 6 wasted weeks trying to figure out the details with another contractor that had no clue, I placed my desperate call to Steve and within a day, he had taken over the project and progress was being made! He made sure the project would go smoothly, and was finished ahead of schedule, with professionalism. I was constantly kept in the loop, about deadlines and inspections. Every single question I had was answered promptly by email, phone call or text. All aesthetic decisions were made with the help of Lisa King and she somehow managed to take my vision and come up with all the finishes and color scheme to bring to life my idea of a Spa Dental office. SK Construction was recommended by Patterson Dental for my dental office build out in 2013. I was moving from a 1500 sq foot rented dental office space to about 3000 sq foot space. I knew I wanted 7 operatories but other than that I was open to design ideas. Steve worked closely with Patterson to get an ideal configuration to make the most our of our space. He has tips and tricks to make little areas open up and to keep a professional space with a comfortable Atmosphere. Steve and Lisa worked diligently to 1. keep us on our timeline 2. keep all the paperwork and reports as needed for the city and 3. make sure all rules/regulations were followed to a T. Lisa met with me multiple times and at different locations to pick the perfect countertops, flooring/tile, pain, waiting room furniture etc. She was patient, helpful and a wealth of knowledge. She made me an awesome “Color Board” with each item as we picked it and brought the board to each meeting location. So I could visually see each part of the office come together on the board.
I can not say enough about Steve and Lisa and what they did for me. The office I work in feels like home and I love going to work every day. They are an inspiring couple that have the knowledge and know how to make anything you want happen. For those considering building a new dental office, My partner and I decided to use Steve and Lisa King to build our endodontic practice and we have never looked back. I cannot emphasize enough how much their extensive experience paid off. From the beginning we had a very strict timeline and despite city induced hurdles, Steve came in well ahead of schedule. He handled all the permit issues with such ease that there was no stress whatsoever on my end. I was confidant everything would be taken care of, and it was.
Steve’s timeliness is topped only by the quality of the actual construction. As most Dentists are extremely detail oriented, it is nice to work with someone who shares that value. As you can imagine, building a new office can be quite stressful, but SK Construction made the process so much easier, it’s s hard to put it into words.

Steve just built my orthodontics office in Encinitas. Beam Orthodontics opened its doors April 24,and Steve did a PHENOMENAL job. I cannot say enough good things about Steve’s work. From helping us with the design, moving us quickly (but thoroughly) through city inspections to building us a beautiful office, he and his wife Lisa are a joy to work with.
